FINALLY! A NEW POST!! Let me get the spider webs out of here...

When I meet with Stephanie and Thomas the first thing I noticed about them was how generally nice they were as people.  They were kind and soft spoken and I could see why they loved each other.  I could especially see something different in Thomas that I don't see in everyone, and instantly I knew Stephanie meet her match.  They quickly became one of my favorite couples and even more so when we did their engagement session at Jamaica Pond a few months back.      Now don't get me wrong, I love ALL my couples, but its like your kids, you love them all, but just differently.

Stephanie and Thomas wedding was held at the Harvard Club of Boston.  It's a beautiful location for a wedding and the photos speak volumes of the location.  It's taken me awhile to get these up, but here is their September wedding.  More photos to come on the blog now that we are almost caught up on work!

Update on Photos and Albums

Please know that I've received emails and phone calls looking for status updates on your events and albums.    Each time we have to stop and answer the phone or answer an email, takes us away from working on your event.

This is the busiest time of year for us, and we are hoping everyone will continue to be patient.  I'd rather not rush event photo edits and albums because I want to deliver quality to all of you.

Please continue to be patient and your photos will be done with in a 3 week period for portraits and a 5 week period for weddings.

Album deadlines:  PLEASE APPROVE YOUR ALBUM BY NOVEMBER 10TH.  Albums not approved by November 10th, will not be ensured by Christmas delivery.

First, we apologize for the delay in blog posts.  We are 100% buried over here at Cordele Photography.  We have album deadlines, wedding edits, portrait edits, emails, bookkeeping, voicemail's, client meetings, AND we are STILL Shooting.   We have put a hault on shooting anything new as of today until November 20th.    I just can't keep up.  We are asking everyone to be patient with email response time and voicemail response time.  We are also asking people to be patient with their image turn around time from their events.  I'm working as hard and as fast as I can.  This is absolutely the busy season.  Oh! And the elves are also very eager to open the doors for the black friday holiday, so keep your eyes open for them!

A few weeks ago I had a portrait session in Medfield.    Baby C is going to be a heartbreaker someday.  Look at those baby blues!!  You just want to eat him up!

Portrait Parties | Massachusetts

A few weeks back I went up to Brooksby Farm to photography over 20 children.  The weather looked a little iffy, but it turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day.  We had some of the kids dressed in their halloween costumes and they were SO cute!!  The one thing I tell everyone, is that photographing kids is HARD.  They have their own agenda and they don't want to listen and smiling isn't always in the cards.  Regardless, I feel like we got some great photos of the kids!

For anyone waiting for the gallery to go up, I am hoping to have it up by Sunday.

Ciao! Portrait Parties

Thanks for being a patient blog reader. I was away all last week in Siena, Italy and didn't have a chance to blog before I left.  I know a few people are patiently waiting for their Portrait Party Photos.  They will be posted on the blog this week.

Pomfret School, Clark Chapel Conneticut Wedding Photos, Backyard wedding

Erin and Patrick where married at the Pomfret School in Pomfret Connecticut at the end of August.  Patrick once was a student at this private school.  When I arrived I instantly feel in love with the Chapel.

Mirrored after an 1800 century Chapel in England, it was unique to most of the churches and Chapel's I photograph in around New England.  I had to be-careful not to pull all the formal photos in front of the church.  You'll see, it was really pretty!

The wedding reception was actually a backyard wedding, and at first ,I have to be honest, I was a little nervous.  I didn't know what to expect.  Checker colored table clothes?  Not at this wedding! It was probably one of the prettiest weddings I've been too.  Erin's dad and Patrick spent all summer clearing out the backyard.  They put up a tent and ordered tables and linens.  It was fantastic and so much fun! They should rent their backyard out.   Below are a few of my favorites..

I have checked the radar, there is NO rain coming.   It's just going to be overcast in the morning and clearing as the day goes on.

Right now (as of 12:30 AM) I think the Portrait Party is a go!  Questions/concern/need to cancel?? CALL US!  978.771.0341 (call anytime .. leave a message.. you won't wake us..)

So Far, I have had two cancellations and have revised the list of times. If you had a session at 10:45 or 11, please call me.  The weather looks like it might be iffy in the morning, but fine in the afternoon!  So we are moving some people around. (High of 70)

Please CALL or email if you feel you personally think it's too wet or soggy to have the session. Don't just not show up... please.     If we have too many people cancel in the morning, we may call the whole thing off.


As of right now,   I am hopeful that we can get the sessions in.  The problem is- the weather looks 100% questionable.  It's not saying it's "going" to rain, but it's not saying it won't..

PLEASE CHECK BACK ON THE BLOG BY 10 AM.  We will post by 10 AM if it's on OR we are going to cancel, as well as try to let everyone know via phone/email.   If the weather changes drastically mid day, please call us 978.771.0341 to see if we are still shooting.   We don't want to waste anyone's time.

Oceancliff Wedding Photos, Newport Rhode Island Wedding

I shot a wedding down in Newport Rhode Island for my good friend Ryan. What can I say about Ryan? quiete possibly one of the funniest people I know. He and I went to UMass Amherst together and lived on the same floor. Late at night we would go grocery shopping together or watch late night infomercials while we did laundry. I still remember some fun times sitting on the couch laughing over informercials.

When he and Lyndsey asked me to shoot their wedding, I was both honored and horrified. It's a lot of pressure to shoot someone's wedding but, someone I knew! I was pretty sure I was going to do something horrible to ruin thier photos. I am happy to say, that it was just the perfectionist side of me coming out. Their photos came out great and they had a GLORIOUS day at Oceancliff in Newport Rhode Island.  They had their wedding ceremony at Salva Regina (where Lyndsey is an Alum).  What a stunning location!

Sheraton Commander Hotel Cambridge Wedding Photos

Back on August 8th, I shot Tim and Sara's wedding in Cambridge.  They were married at Tufts Goddard Chapel, with the reception at the Sheraton Commander Hotel in Cambridge, MA  What a hidden gem that hotel is!  it's tucked in on Route 2 right across from the Harvard Campus.  I never new it was there.


Sara and Tim live in California and meet with me over "iChat".  They couldn't exactly fly home to meet with me, so we made technology work for us!  I had met with Sara's sister Rachel a few weeks before and just knew this wedding was special.  Tim and Sara really are prefect for each other.

Family Portraits | Duxbury Beach

A few weeks back I got a call on a charity donation I made to a local school auction.  The family that won the auction wanted to do a shoot down on the beautiful Duxbury Beach.  I had never been there before so I was really jazzed to shoot someplace new!

These two have their hands full.  They have 4 (yes FOUR) kids!  They were all so adorable and cooperative.

I have to give a shout out to Jay Harrington in Better off Ted, it's been years since I've seen him, but I watched him at the Harwich Jr. theatre play Tom Sawyer. I saw him every summer growing up.   He is such a great guy, and I am so thrilled he has his own show! It's HYSTERICALLY funny and if you haven't seen it... Tivo it!

Tivo - I stumbled upon Tivo working for Hifi.com years ago.  It's by far the BEST invention ever!

My Iphone (again, if my house burned down... first the camera, than the iphone, and then the cats.. Kidding people. The cats CLEARLY get pulled out before the phone!)

Chelmsford MA Senior Photos

If you feel like I've been slower to respond, or harder to find, this is because - it's BUSY season!  If you know me, I'm normally prompt with email, quick with phone calls, and great setting up meetings.  All that has gone to hell in a hand basket lately.    Things on my to-do list JUST today, finish editing senior photos for yearbook deadline (number to edit 4 clients), email back all new inquiries, upload two albums, upload 2 galleries, blog August 1 wedding, edit august 8 wedding, blog senior sessions, album meeting with July client 6:00, meet new client at 7:30,  contact album company, download yesterdays photo session, eat, sleep and answer emails.   I got 7 of those tasks complete.  *sigh*. It's now 11:25PM  and I'm still working  Bear with me everyone!

I had the oppurtunity to shoot a group of girls that I meet at a local coffee shop. I've been dying to do some senior portraits here in Chelmsford, and they all took me up on it.

I just have to say, i certainly didn't look like any of THEM in High School. I was still going through my awkward phase...

Pam + Ben | Oceanedge Brewster, Wedding Photos

Back at the beginning of August I shot a wedding in Brewster MA at OceanEdge. I have spent most of my summers on the Cape for as long as I can remember. I use to go to OceanEdge to sit on the beach at night with friends. It's a wonderful place and so beautiful for hosting a wedding. The wedding of Pam and Ben was small and intimate. It was perfect for them. They were married down on the Beach, and then had their reception up in a private room. It was a beautiful day.

Stephanie + Thomas | Engagement Photos Jamaica Pond

Back in JULY (Oh I am so embarassed by my late blogging) I shot Stephanie and Thomas Engagement photos at Jamaica Pond. We had a glorious day in West Roxbury at Jamaica Pond. The boats were out, the sun was setting and I had the sweetest couple to shoot! Sometimes when I meet with clients, I can just instantly see why they love each other. These two are two of the sweetest people and I can't wait to photograph their wedding in a few weeks!

Chocksett Inn Wedding Photos

Back on July 10th, (oh ya we aren't behind on blogging at all) I photographed Maureen and Dan. They were married at St. Johns in Sterling, MA and then had their wedding reception at the Chocksett Inn and Sterling. What a hidden gem that venue is. Beautiful grounds and a wonderful ball room.

ShootStyle Goes to Wellesley

A Few weeks ago (okay more like a month and a half ago, I'm so behind blogging!) a group of local photographers known to some as Shootstyle, went out on a model shoot. We ended up at the Elm Bank Reservation for the day. It's a beautiful spot for a wedding if you are still looking for the perfect location.

Below are a couple of my favorite shots. The dresses were made by Juliana Couture by Juliana and Laura. They did such a fabulous job making unique colored wedding dresses! I was joined on the shoot with Jamison Wexler, Michelle Turner, Kristin Cioffi, Earl Christie, Stacey Doyle and a few guest shooters.

I am SO behind on blogging. I've had a ton of shoots lately and have been so busy backing up images and editing blogging feel behind. I'm sorry! A good family friend of mine recently had a baby. I've known Baby C's father for as long as I can remember.

Baby C made his arrival just a few short weeks ago. You can just tell this kid is going to be a heartbreaker. He looks just like his dad!

He didn't like my flash very much so shooting was a bit of a challenge.

Crane Estate Wedding Photos

Laura & Abe had their wedding at the Crane Estate also known as Castle Hill. If you aren't firmiliar with the Crane Estate, it's the mansion used in Flowers in The Attic the movie. When the little kids are leaving the house and running away they run down the lawn of the Estate. The grounds are breathtaking and the house amazing. To have lived there years ago must have been so much fun.

Laura and Abe lucked out on their wedding day. Weather predicted rain (what's new) and it didn't rain at all. The sun actually came out which made for some beautiful scenery and cool photos. Below are a few from the day.

A few weeks ago I shot Danielle and Jeff's wedding. The wedding was at the Blissful Meadows Country Club in Uxbridge MA

Nicole + Chris | Engagement Session| Gloucester

Nicole and Chris are getting married next year. I was pretty excited to do their shoot up in Gloucester, MA at Good Harbor Beach, last weekend. Nicole use to go up there when she was little so she thought it might be fun.

Why you only put up watermarked images

I am a bit of a stickler with my images. I ask that if you post on Facebook you only use marked images with my logo.
I always tell people "its to prevent theft of images." Wow, who knew THIS could actually happen.

Exciting Stuff!

So today I went down to the mailbox like I do everyday. Bill..Bill... Junk mail...Oil Change appointment reminder and then a white padded envelop. Perplexed, I wondered what it could be. I didn't recognize the return address. I opened the package expecting junk and was pleasantly surprised to find a cd from a former client.

Pin + Vincent | Harvard Yard Cambridge, Wedding

Every year I have a wedding that reminds me why I am a wedding photographer. Pin and Vincent's wedding was that wedding this year. It was a small, intimate affair with about 40 people. They are both graduates of Harvard Grad School and were married last Saturday. They are moving back to Singapore after their fabulous honeymoon to Northern California.

They were the most gracious and wonderful people I've meet in a long time. I left feeling like I should have paid them for the privilege of documenting their day.

They were married at Memorial Church in Harvard Yard in Cambridge. It was a small ceremony with lots of big details. I have so many photos I love I actually had to stop blogging.

Another great capture by Seth. While I was doing some of Pin he was stalking Vincent. The Hotel Marlow is a fabulous backdrop for photos! There are SO many fun places to shoot- and the rooms are beautifu.



I love the emotion in this photo. The wedding dress Pin wore was by Monique Lhuillier. This dress has such a great story. Pin came to me and flipped through one of my albums. She absolutely loved everything about the wedding, including the bride's dress. I ended up hooking Pin up with Sue (my featured Knot bride) and Sue sold her dress to her! Monique Lhullier dresses are very hard to find. Only a few places sell them. You can visit the website here.



Pin and Vincent went on to Hotel Marlow for their fabulous Tea Ceremony. Then after Hotel Marlow we were off to the BEST resturant in Boston L'Espalier. It's the sister resturant to my favorite spot Sal De La Ter. If you haven't been to either, you simply must go!

Out of a Job- become a photographer...

Please don't! I stumbled across this article and I wanted to cry. This makes my job sound so.. easy

Before I send you this link, the only truth (or close truth) is what we make for income. Please remember I do this FULL TIME. I work 60-80 hours a week. I give up my weekends, I miss family events, and this article makes it out to be a glamourous way to make quick pocket money.

I've been at this 6 years. I'd like to find this guy and smack him silly. He needs to come hang out with me for a week. He wouldn't think my job is easy pocket money. The words "part time" made me choke on my water. Shooting on a weekend, 8 hours. Answering emails, 10 hours a week. Editing (for every two hours shooting I spend 1 hour behind the computer.) For one wedding I work anywhere from 30-60 hours. ONE wedding.

Sure, today I am taking the day off (but see.. I'm blogging and sitting in front of the computer answering emails. ... What a day off!)

Tampa Florida Engagement Session

A few weeks ago I went down to Florida to visit and do some work for a friend!

In the hot sun of Tampa Florida I ended up venturing out with Lauren Pauline (of Lauren Pauline Photography) for an engagement session. In Tampa you have to schedule your sessions around the possibility of late day thunderstorms. That makes finding good soft light a little bit more of a challenge then in Boston. Everything was BRIGHT and HOT. Regardless, we were able to find some fun spots to put this wonderful couple. You know the drill... favorite images below.

Alex and Lisa were such wonderful models, and such troopers in the sun. They had it right, it's all about wearing WHITE.

Lisa & Peter | Emerson By the Sea Wedding Photos

I am a little behind on blogging so I apologize! On Saturday of last weekend, I shot a wedding at the beautiful Emerson By The Sea (site). It was a wonderful day with just a few clouds in the sky.

I only have a minute, so below are the photos that I pulled (not even including my favorites) from the wedding.

First we did some ring shots, and Lisa's Ring was beautiful!

Then it was on to the shoes... oh the shoes (drool) they were a beautiful pair of Jimmy Choo Shoes

The details at this wedding were amazing. These were the gifts for guests. Chocolate Rocks!

First Wedding of the Season!

I feel a little behind the eight ball with wedding postings this season, but my season started off late. This past Saturday I had my first wedding of the season. It was a beautiful day with a wonderful couple. The weather even held out so we could do the formals outside. Lisa was a little nervous that it would rain and ruin our formal photo plan. Below are a few photos from the wedding day! The wedding was held at the beautiful Lyman Estate in Waltham, MA


We started the day with Lisa getting ready at the Lyman Estate. We set up a moment between her and Matt to see each other for the first time. Here is Lisa walking down the stairs to see Matt.



I love this shot. The excitement of everyone behind them is amazing. I love the expressions.

The place cards/favors designed by the bride. I have to tell you... she is very talented! If you need a graphic designer...

and my absolute favorite photo from the night. This place has a very old school antique feel. The tone of this image really shows the feel of the entire day!

Baby J!

You all remember JJ right? He's been a star on my blog for over two years now! I was so blessed to be asked to take his Year in the life Pictures, and now he has a baby brother! Welcome Baby J! Chelsea and Jim have the cutest family unit and I love being such a big part of documenting these kids growing up. They grow up so fast. I can't believe JJ is 2!!!!!!!!! Where does the time go?
